LOCAL-FIRST MEDIA ENGINE

Fast when your browser can be fast. Compatible when it cannot.

FitMyVideo uses a browser-first browser media pipeline and keeps FFmpeg/WASM as a compatibility layer instead of forcing every file through the slowest path.

01

You choose a local video

The browser receives access only to the file you explicitly select. FitMyVideo checks the file size, container, codec, duration and display dimensions.

02

FitMyVideo checks preview support

If the browser can play the source codec natively, you get a normal video preview. If not, FitMyVideo tries to decode a representative frame and shows that instead of leaving a misleading black player.

03

The fast media path is selected

On supported browsers, Mediabunny drives WebCodecs and lets the browser choose the best available WebCodecs encoder. Heavy processing code is loaded only when a tool actually needs it.

04

Your requested transformation runs locally

Compression calculates a bitrate from target size and duration. Resize, crop, trim, mute and conversion use the same browser media pipeline. Compatible container conversions may copy tracks instead of rebuilding every frame.

05

Compatibility mode is used only when needed

If the fast AVC compression path is unavailable, FitMyVideo can fall back to FFmpeg/WASM. GIF rendering also uses the compatibility engine and is therefore intended for short clips.

06

You download the result

The result is exposed as a local browser object and downloaded to your device. FitMyVideo does not maintain a cloud media library or account history for these tools.
